Canadian Grand Prix Qualifying Results: Russell Grabs Pole Position

Russell Takes Pole in Canada

George Russell has taken a dramatic pole position for the upcoming Canadian Grand Prix, the ninth round of the 2024 Formula 1 World Championship. The Mercedes driver qualified in a time of 1:22.000, matching the time of Red Bull's Max Verstappen. But due to setting the lap time earlier in the session, Russell will start the race tomorrow ahead of Verstappen.

It was a tense qualifying session, with the top three drivers all within a tenth of a second of each other. Russell's pole position is his first of the 2024 season, and it marks a remarkable turnaround for the young driver, who struggled at the start of the season.

Verstappen will start the race alongside Russell in second place, while Lando Norris of McLaren will start in third. Carlos Sainz of Ferrari and Sergio Perez of Red Bull will start in fourth and fifth place, respectively.

The Canadian Grand Prix is set to be one of the most exciting races of the season, with the top teams all closely matched. Russell's pole position gives him a slight advantage, but Verstappen and Norris will be hoping to overtake him at the start and challenge for the win.
